Matt is the classic ‘Dr Who’ child hiding either behind the sofa or his outstretched hand for nearly every episode. Fear is not something he has ever enjoyed…He did once read ‘American Psycho’
but this again left him with palpable fears of what is going on around him, behind those twitching net curtains, that book will not be read again.
To this day he turns the TV down and takes his glasses off (that being the adult version of hiding behind the sofa and one’s hands) at the slightest hint of a horrific moment.
Conversely, as a director he loves directing theatre that horrifies and shocks, Neil Labute being a favourite. Nothing gives him greater pleasure that to see the audience squirm the way he once did while watching Dr Who.
