As a boy I begged Mum and Dad to buy me one of those awesome, futuristic devices known as a radio/cassette recorder and spent hours recording the Radio One Top Forty on a Sunday evening, replacing the DJ’s voice with my own.
Unsurprisingly my first job was as a rookie news reporter on a local radio station - GWR in England’s West Country. But I soon found that I loved telling news stories more than going out to find
them and I became chief presenter of the station’s news programmes and documentaries.
I now have a recording studio at my seaside home in Cornwall where I produce audiobooks, commercials and e-learning projects for clients around the world. I recently narrated the TV
documentary "Kate and William - Inside the Royal Wedding” and was the voice of the spooky skeleton presenter of the “Deadlings” game trailers. My most arduous but fascinating job to date was to
record the entire text of the Quran (in English thankfully as my Arabic is rubbish).
Scary moments? I still haven’t got over a terrifying visit to the Madame Tussauds waxworks in London when I was 5 years old and I still feel decidedly uneasy around any sort of mannequin or
display figure. And don’t even get me started on ventriloquists’ dummies!
